There's one other change that nearly drove me round the bend yesterday. 
A share that I have used through the last few versions of Ubuntu stopped
working.
End's up if you have an unsecured share (no user or pass) you now need
to add

guest,uid1000,

to your fstab mount options or it won't mount except from terminal.
