Darn.. the problem is back. So I reinstalled 'ethtool' and the only difference I can see is that before the 'replug' when it is stuttering it shows 'MDI-X: on' and after the replug when it is working fine it shows 'MDI-X: off'. This has something to do with automatically recognizing crossover cables right? Why should it be slowing down the ethernet interface? Can I force it to always be 'MDI-X: off'?
