The "sudo /etc/init.d/squeezeboxserver (stop start restart) commands
work for me with the latest build of 7.5.1.    My understanding is that
squeezeboxserver has to run with root privileges.  I would check the
permissions on the files in /usr/share/squeezeboxserver .
