I see your logic. The alternative is to replace your NAT router with a
device you have confidence in. If the bad guys gain access to
192.168.0.0/24 then your current ACL's are not going to help. You could
get more verbose with your statements but if your LAN gets compromised
then really all bets are off. I would put any thought and resources
into securing your gateway router/firewall.
