I'm running Fedora 14 and would agree.  I'm not getting that error.

I've been able to get everything to load with the exception of EV and
YAML::Syck.  What is puzzling is that the RPMs for both of those have
been installed; so not sure what is happening at this point.  Doesn't
make sense that Perl 5.12 would cause this to break; typically new
releases (especially a minor) would be backwardly compatible.
