I also upgraded to SuSE 11.3 (64bit) and hit this problem After following the steps in posts #33 and #35 i'm back up and running.
I had some problems with it until I completely removed squeezeboxserver before reinstalling. Using 'rpm -e' was not enough, I also had to remove (rename) /var/lib/squeezeboxserver and /var/log/squeezeboxserver directories and then reinstall. I used the night build rpm 7.5.2 r31445.
