Sorry to reply to myself, but I got it working (copied the 85 ebuild to 84 ...).
But this has NOT solved my problem. When I go to server settings page I cannot open the plugins tab and there is no internet radio on the home page except for "tune in URL". My only hypothesis is this: I notice that the server ip seems to have changed. I have two interfaces, eth0 = 192.168.0.1 and eth1 = 192.168.2.10. Eth0 is the local home network; eth1 is connected to a router/adsl modem. I'm pretty sure that squeezebox server used to take the home network address before my problems began.
