SliMP3 will need transcoding support for any non MP3 format and that include Flac and WMA
A few years ago SBS needed a few patches to standard Flac to enable transcoding. I'm not sure if the patches have made it into a standard Flac. For Debian/Ubuntu SBS provides a built version of Flac. It is build or a 32 bit kernel so that 64 bit kernel uses had to install the ia32-libs package to enable running of 32 bit binaries on the 64 bit kernel. So I think you should check if you need to build a custom patched version of flac or else see if you can use the SbS built version of flac. For WMA support you need to provide WMA transcoding support. The PlayWMA plugin will do this but you need also non GUI version of mplayer for your system. Not all builds of mplayer meet with the PlayWMA requirements - it may be a case of trial and error to find a suitable version for your distro. Alternative if just using BBCiPlayer - choose to use the AAC streams and get faad working on your system. -- bpa ------------------------------------------------------------------------ bpa's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=1806 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=89884 _______________________________________________ unix mailing list [email protected] http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/unix
