Hi

A bit of an odd one this so bear with me whilst I attempt to explain my
predicament.

My music sits on a mac in my study. Connected to this via a Linksys
router and ethernet connection is..

A squeezebox duet in my living room. Connected to my amp/speakers

A hacked O2 Joggler in my kitchen. The Joggler is hacked with Ubuntu
Natty Linux and has Squeezeplayer and Spotify installed. The hacked
Joggler is hardwired to the router in my study.

My problems are many fold and i think they are tied in with a computer
network that isnt set up correctly. Not being that savvy re networks I
am not that sure how I go aout identifying the problem let alone fixing
it!

Anyway, my problems are

1. The players in the kitchen and living room drop out regularly. When
I look at the squeezplayer interface on my mac I frequently get "your
players not found" in the drop down

2. I am a Spotify premium subscriber. Sometimes it will work perfectly
for hours ..then for no apparent reason I cannot get music out of the
psky speakers. I frequently get either a "remote host not responding"
message or "cannot play file type".
3. For some reason I seem to get more prolems in the evening? I could
understand if this was a problem with Spotify but why would my internal
network give up the ghost in the evening? No one else is hitting the
network at that time (wife is watching telly and kids are in bed)

Any ideas as to how I narrow down what the problem could be?

Any advice much appreciated

Paul
