Yep - you're bang on!
I saw that post and fixed my LMS installation by removing the "{,"
characters from the offending lines - but it stuffed MythTV. I then
lost more than a few hours of my life trying to solve MythTV mySQL
permission errors until I saw another MythTV forum post with similar
recommendations to jose1701's solution. Oh how I wish I'd read that
thread more carefully in the first place!
For those similarly afflicted, the solution was this:
/{,var/}run/mysqld/mysqld.pid w,
/{,var/}run/mysqld/mysqld.sock w,
I still don't fully understand how it works, but it is the solution!
[For info, I started from a clean slate and installed Mythbuntu 11.10
first. In hindsight, life might have been much easier if I'd done a
full Ubuntu install, then install Myth then LMS]
Alas my problems aren't all over - I can't connect to mysqueezebox.com
now but will post separately on that when I've investigated some more.
Cheers!
