I very recently bought a duet and (somehow!) managed to get things all
working fine with LMS running on my eeePC 900 running the stock Xandros
OS – thanks to some of the very helpful posts here and elsewhere. To
date I’ve had to start LMS manually using a command window each time I
want to run it. I’ve tried to get LMS to start automatically on boot
with the following command: “sudo update-rc.d logitechmediaserver
defaults”, but when I do I get a message saying the startup link
already exists. I’ve tried removing LMS from the startup and
reinserting but I still get the same message and no automatic start on
boot.

Any ideas? I should say that I’ve managed to get as far as I have
despite myself and am almost a complete linux ignoramus, so please, be
gentle!
