I've had a bad USB souncard (DAC) that failed after a day or so. That also caused Squeezelite to dissapear. But, that's an exceptional situation. The soundcard was dead and wasn't recognized anymore as an USB device. Do you use a soundcard? If yes, maybe there's a power setting or something that powers it down after x hours of not using it? Just a long shot..
