Thanks a lot Paul, will definitely look into it! I have to admit I was hoping for a solution which does not require patching the code, cause I often update to the latest GIT sources. The way I had in mind was to leave the code as it is and try to parse the debug output with a shell script or another independent small C program and look out for the status messages (start squeeze lite with debug output -> pipe that stuff into a small script/program -> filter the messages -> take wanted actions like turning on power sockets for example). Any opinions on that? BTW, for now I don't know exactly if this would be possible in BASH scripting.
