There are some third party version if you search the forum , including
one that do 192khz .

For the latest years the Logitech provided one was buggy and actually
never worked out of the box on Ubuntu , it required some tinkering to
get going .

However there is always the source code , so it can be compiled and
built on anything , but that also require some knowledge .

And for playback in my Linux desktop I use squeezelite instead and
controll it with the web UI if this is the server machine there is a
local playback plugin that does this in a very easy way . And of course
as it is a " squeezebox " it will be controllable from all the usual
places like web-UI or phone apps etc .
