What is it that you need squeezeplay for? If you need it just for playback, you can use squeezeslave. You run squeezeslave in the background and control it using the web page, a sb controller, or one of the iOS or Andriod apps. If you are running a redhat based OS, there is even a startup script available to start it at boot time.
