I understand about the hdmi bug. It looks like it is probably a driver bug and may take some time to get straightened out. In the meantime I have been trying to test the other audio outputs. I have been unable to get the spdif to work, but finally I found that if I retracted the optical cable partially from the optical jack on the wandboard, it would work. I tried three different optical cables and they all acted the same, so there must be something wrong with the jack on the wandboard. I mention it in case someone else has a similar problem.
