OK, how do I put this, without causing offence..... This is exactly what I don't think we want to portray. Circuit boards, wires and geek chic. Put the Wandboard circuit board in both halves of the plastic case, at least! ;) We can have a techy pictures page where we can have as many shots of circuit boards as people can upload, but think of this as being the marketing picture, showing at least something that wouldn't immediately be rejected on the WAF scale, that wouldn't look totally out of place on a hi-fi rack, that looks like it might be a product you bought as pre-built, rather than something you quickly lashed together in your garage. Yes, I know this is a DIY project, but we don't need to portray it as something you might need to be soldering together, and require geek skills to stand any chance of getting it to work. It's a music playing device, not a circuit board. We're "selling", (if we were selling a product which of course we are not), the Community Squeeze Player, not Wandboards. The circuit board is a means to an end, not the "product". I'm not suggesting taking it too far, artistic shots with bottles of fine wine in the background, propping up a classic Miles Davis album sleeve et all, but imagine we are trying to sell an image of us and what we are trying to do and attract mainstream people, not a bunch of Linux users, people who enjoy reading circuit diagrams, dribbling over the silk screen on a PCB, or have burns on their keyboard from having dropped the soldering iron. These mainstream don't want to see what is in the case. And even if they do, they need to head to the technical section to get that......... ------------------------------------------------------------------------ JackOfAll's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=3069 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=98544 _______________________________________________ unix mailing list [email protected] http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/unix
