Question I would have about this is that it works if we only deal with one sample rate, but if we don't upsample and the user has multiple sample rate files then it is changing the frequency of needing to run the output thread with sample rate - rather than the number of bytes transfered. What's the benfit other than being able to set the actual buffer size more directly.
