I don't believe the idea should be restricted to using an SSD, rotary 2"5 HDD should be ok too. On an SFF machine I have a Travelstar 750GB powered only through 5V (other cables cut flush with the power plug) and it works perfectly well. In my case I connected the 2 remaining cables to the 5V/GND pins of an available IDE header. I don't know what the power requirements of the wandboard are, but surely you can find how many amps the drive you want to use can draw at most. I'd say 1 amp max at startup time (5W) and less than 0.5 amp when active. Also beware that smaller SSDs (1.8", mSATA) are using 3.3V power rails, not 5V. 4 SB 3 iPeng (iPhone + iPad) SqueezeLite Squeezebox Server 7.6.2 (Debian 6.0) with plugins: CD Player, WaveInput by bpa IRBlaster by Gwendesign (Felix) Server Power Control by Gordon Harris Smart Mix by Michael Herger PowerSave by Jason Holtzapple Song Info, Song Lyrics by Erland Isaksson Just Covers by Tom Kalmijn WeatherTime by Martin Rehfeld Local Player, BBC iPlayer, SwitchPlayer by Triode Auto Dim Display, SaverSwitcher, ContextMenu by Peter Watkins. ------------------------------------------------------------------------ epoch1970's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=16711 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=98544
