I've been trying to get the optical out on the swamp board to work. I'm currently using R4, with just the squeezelite upgrade for sampling. When I have squeezelite setup for the spdif out and boot the board I get red on the output for a couple seconds, then it goes black for about a minute, then comes back on when squeezelite starts up. When I play a file the reciver I have it plugged into locks on to the signal and says it is the same sample rate as the file I'm playing. BUT there is no music. Alsamixer doesn't have any controls for it. I tried stopping squeezelite and use aplay to play a wav file and get the same results, receiver locks on and gets the correct sample rate, but no sound.
I checked the files in /proc/asound and they say the interface is up and running with the appropriate parameters. I don't see anything in the log file that would give any indication of anything wrong. I tried the plug interface and get the same results. I tried alsa params of 40::16 and 40::24 and got the same results. BTW the swamp board uses a different transmitter than the wandboard and it IS connected the right way! I tried plugging the Touch optical out into the receiver and it plays music just fine so I think the receiver is working well. Any ideas what I could be doing wrong?
