It's not that the firmware on the wand is unloading.... The firmware is
uploaded from the Wand to the DAC. When you power cycle the DAC, it
requires that you upload the firmware to it again. If you update the
firmware package to the one above, try "sudo
mytekusb2-firmware-loader.sh", instead of manually rmmod/modprobe/aplay.


As to your second point, "won't play anything over 44.1 natively"....
Once you have the DAC initialised, firmware loaded.... What does "cat
/proc/asound/USB2/stream0" tell you? What rates does the hardware
directly support?
