In a local forum, I posted my picoplayer solution as a squeezebox touch replacement. Someone highly recommend voyage mpd with alix.3d2 and a linear power supply. Are you using that combination? May I know which version are you using? I am using it with a USB DAC too and I think v1.0 sounds the best, maybe because of it kernel is 3.8.13.
