I tried the latest git changes
(b3cb3e449d101e4d0bd5c354bdb94fec36c6bc6a) on OSX 10.7 using built-in,
still no joy.
Once I power off logging stops, no status messages, nothing else gets
sent to the log

When I power on there's still nothing in the logs, the player looks like
it's playing in the web gui but no audio, then eventually the web gui
stops updating.
