I'm trying to help a noob level 0 (and I'm noob level 1) with access to
his setup using PuTTY.

After a lot of failures, I noticed that when he types a command, eg.
dir

then the terminal returns something like:

# sudo mkdir /mnt/TEST
-sh: sudo: not found
# dir /mnt
-sh: dir: not found

I've never seen this -sh prompt before with PuTTy.

Can anybody explain what's happening, and how to get the normal command
line behaviour?
