If it is an open wireless network, then all you need is the SSID. That can be preconfigured at your place. Realize that when you try to start this up headless on your network that it will fail (unless you happen to have the same SSID in open mode). If there is security, then there is a premise "handshake" required that will prohibit you from setting it up at your place and shipping it to your son's. You could at least get all of the utilities that you will need loaded. Then your son would have at least two options. 1) plug in a keyboard/video/mouse and run wifi.sh locally. No wired Ethernet required (if you've preloaded all the utilities, firmware, latest squeezelite, etc.). or 2) use a cheap router (no wireless needed, just DHCP) and plug in a laptop and the pi local. You can SSH in to the pi from the laptop and setup your usb wifi via wifi.sh again. ------------------------------------------------------------------------ mcdudeabides's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=57765 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=97803 _______________________________________________ unix mailing list [email protected] http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/unix
