Yes I have jumper set to 18bit.

"32 bit output from upsample" - does this mean 32bit/352.8 from 16/44.1
but the 32bit sample will actually have 16bit of information and 16bits
padded with zeros?
What about hirez? for 24/96 following the above logic will have 32/384
with 24bit information and 6 padded zeros, thus truncated to 18bit we
loose the lowest 6bits. Shouldn't everything be converted to 18 or
16bits (what SoX supports) and dither?

Good you reminded that I might need more attenuation. Otherwise I've set
28bit precision but the "v" setting might already doing that - so
basically our settings are similar.
