Eric, The original problem with spdif on the Dual was due to a hardware implementation error on the carrier board, voltage and signal transposed, to the TOSLINK transceiver. The Quad doesn't have that issue. I believe that Dual's are now shipping with the later revision carrier board, so do not have the issue. The recent chatter about spdif and it not working with certain DAC's that checked the validity flag, is solved. There aren't any other issues relating to spdif, AFAIK. The USB OTG port is a little bit of a mystery. I haven't had much success with it. If you were to use a second USB DAC, I'd suggest plugging them both into a hub and connecting that to the full-size USB port.
