Just to expand on Triode's answer, it has always been the intention to
upstream the DSD support. What is lacking, is time, specifically my
time. At the present, the only "distributions" with DSD support are
Kimmo's 'Daphile' (http://www.daphile.com/) and the Community Squeeze
LMS builds for F19 (arm/i386/x86_64) and (unofficially) a build for
Vortexbox (F16).

Source code for dsdplay and the patch for the perl AudioScan library and
core LMS can be found on CS github. I have a patched buildme script for
"official" Logitech builds that I was working on a couple of weeks ago.
It will build and enable DSD functionality on all Unix and Mac OS
platforms. I have not made this available and will not make this
available, except by upstreaming it via Michael, so hopefully it will
become part of "official" Logitech builds. However, not everything has
gone to plan. I have a million and one things I am trying to work on at
the moment and not enough time to work on the things I deem to be higher
priority. I would hope by then end of the Christmas holidays to be able
to provide DSD support patches to LMS for "official" builds in such a
way as Michael will be comfortable integrating it, without it exploding
in his face on platforms on which I am unable to build and test.

'Modified Audio-Scan package'
'dsdplay source' (https://github.com/CommunitySqueeze/dsdplay)

Which reminds me, I need to upload a new core LMS patch, with the
changes for the native squeezelite DSD support introduced in the last
week.
