I have gotten my hands on an old (but free) Asus Aspire Revo 3600. I plan to put some type of linux on it (it comes with no OS) and use it to host my LMS server. Previously I have mostly just used my Squeezebox (I have a Touch now, but I am adding a Radio soon) via mysb.com, so this is the first time I am setting up a permanent LMS server.
I was wondering if anyone here has some advice on how to best go about this? In particular if there is some pitfalls I should be aware of? Also I was wondering if there is some linux distro that is particularly well suited for the purpose? Right now I am thinking of using lubuntu because I have some slight ubuntu experience, and it is supposed to be light-weight. I read a little about vortexbox also, which seems cool but also to be a little more work to use and maintain. ------------------------------------------------------------------------ Guut_Boy's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=62318 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=100722 _______________________________________________ unix mailing list [email protected] http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/unix
