I wasn't trying to use them together, no - but I wasn't power cycling the Pi after unplugging the Ethernet either. So I set it all up again but this time used "sudo poweroff" and when I powered it back up...hey presto! working WiFi! Works from mac to Pi WiFi too - so no problem with the router. I've discovered though, that if I don't use "sudo poweroff" and just pull the power, the next time I plug power in, the Pi has lost all my WiFi settings! :mad: I thought the microcore was beneficial because it was able to handle pulling the power? Thanks for your help, it was sweet to sit there controlling music from my phone on the sofa!
