Yes I take your point (I think!). Using the same clock as the Pi doesn't
guarantee quality especially as a PLL (Phase-Locked Loop for others
reading this) is inevitably prone to jitter. Hence buffering and
reclocking with a very stable high-quality clock is likely to yield
better results.

At least we're talking about real engineering stuff here, not the
benefits of oxygen-free cables. Ahem.

I've only just started playing with the Pi as a Squeezebox addition
(we've got them around the house already), so what have *you* got
planned to beef up the sound quality? :D
