Remote control.... Said I'd come back to you on remotes.... I've got 6 MCE remotes now. LOL. The one I want to talk about is this one....
'GMYLE® Windows 7 Vista XP Media Center MCE PC Remote Control and Infrared Receiver for Home, Premium and Ultimate Edition' (http://www.amazon.co.uk/Windows-Control-Infrared-Receiver-Ultimate/dp/B003ZV3J72). It's not the cheapest and not the most expensive. For £13.60 it seems to be reasonable value for money. Doesn't feel too "trashy" when using it. I think it is OK for the money. I am using it with flirc dongle. (I'll post my config later.) What is more interesting, (and you already pointed this out), most of these MCE remotes come with a dongle. Right, what it interesting about this one, compared to others, is that without any non-standard drivers, Linux sees it as a mouse and USB keyboard and it works quite nicely as both, out-of-the-box. ie. so no need to purchase a Flirc dongle if we can map the media centre defaults to jivelite. Can we deal with keyboard modifiers in Jivelite? Having looked at the code, I'm not sure?
