In anticipation of testing the web-gui with regard to cifs mounts and
credential files, we can't really have credential files being generated
anywhere on the file system, so they are going to need to live in one
place, and that place is /etc/credentials. 
Can you create that dir as root, copy your credentials file to it,
(root,root,0600), and edit fstab to change the mount options for your
cifs share, (credentials=/etc/credentials/your_file), and remount it.

I did a couple of hours work yesterday and an hour today on the web-gui,
adding a framework for cifs credentials files. Not finished yet. I need
to add a little plumbing logic. But if after doing the above, you
install the latest testing version of squeeze-web-gui, you can see where
I am going with this. (Don't do anything other than mount/unmount for
existing cifs fstab entries. I'll finish it this weekend.)
