Okay I downloaded a hi res WAV and got this below. As you can see it downsampled to the max of the USB DAC. The music played however it contains the same pops and clicks as when using squeezelite (for other music. So it seems to be linux system related and not squeezelite. Any ideas anyone? Again there is no asound.conf file in lubuntu which is the only thing I know to mess with.
