Okay, version 1.06 shows the files playing with the native bitrate. Alsa's aplay does not re-sample the files at plays at the nominal bitrate.
However, I cannot really test it since HDMI out does not work. I tried enabling it via the command 'picoreplayer' and change the squeezelite settings with '-a ::32:0'.
