That's interesting, John. I don't think that I've ever heard a DAC
without a reconstruction filter. Is there a mechanism somewhere for
dealing with the ultrasonic noise, which otherwise usually is removed
with an LP filter?

Do you have any idea how much processing power that will be needed for
the upsampling? I'm trying to make an informed guess whether the WB Quad
will be up for both upsampling and the use of BruteFIR/BrutefirDRC.
There's got to be other convolution engines of course, but I'm not up to
speed on which ones that are optimised for ARM, has a working LMS plugin
and preferably is free of charge. (And I like BrutefirDRC for the
loudness functionality.)
