"Transcoding" in this case is only reshuffling the data into the proper order for a PCM chain. It doesn't involve any change to the actual audio data. It is still a "bit perfect" chain with no audible difference, so from that point of view it is "just as good" as "native". "To try to judge the real from the false will always be hard.
