hdparm parameters aren't sticky' so are lost at hard and soft resets. So
to always force HDD into standby...

pacman -S cron
pacman -S hdparm

Use 'crontab -e' to edit the cron config file

You will need to be familiar with Unix 'vi' or 'nano' to edit the file -
it's a bit quirky

Add the line
@reboot /usr/bin/hdparm -B127 -S240 /dev/sda1

OR

Edit the file directly...
/var/spool/cron/root

You may need to create the file 'root' it first and past in the
following...

# Edit with "crontab" for proper functionality, "man 5 crontab" for
formatting
#
# mm  hh  DD  MM  W /path/progam [--option]...  ( W = weekday: 0-6
[Sun=0] )
#
@reboot /usr/bin/hdparm -B127 -S240 /dev/sda1

Then reboot Wandboard.

-B127 sets APM to allow HDD TO go into standby
-S249 sets timeout of 20 minutes
/dev/sda1   is the hard drive

Use 'man hdparm' and 'man cron' for details of usage. Be careful if you
change the numeric parameters - they aren't all as obvious as it may
seem.

Hope that helps.

Bob
