Downloaded soa-image-rpi.img.zip from the first post and started again. About 30 minutes in, the Web interface came up with something about install 3/4 SOXR, then on a refresh it read 4/4 SQUEEZELITE.
During this I was checking journalctl through CryptoTerm logged on as root/root. After about 40 minutes and up to line 1209 I was disconnected, then on trying the web interface I was able to start configuration. Just re-booting with the HiFiBerry DAC installed and a wireless adapter. OK WiFi works, but no sound from the HiFiBerry DAC - configured as hw:CARD=ALSA - which after NULL is the only option. Scratchy sound available at the headphone socket on the Pi. So - load now works, but need help making the HiFiBerry DAC go.
