Make sure you have the Custom Kernel installed. I have no problem getting reliable 192k from the optical output of the Wandboard, but for me it's definitely cable-specific. I have what should be an excellent cable from Blue Jeans that works up to 96k (maybe even 176.4k) but doesn't work at all at 192k.
