No I don't think that the USB DAC is the problem - but you could easily
test just by removing it and select analog audio out,

I'm thinking of two possible issues:
1. Is squeezelite running - can you access the raspberry by via shh and
see by using the "top" command if squeezelite-armv6hf is running?
2. Could your LMS be kind of confused by having connected two different
players with the same MAC-address (first the LAN and then the WiFi based
piCorePlayer). As far as I know it distinguish between players by their
MAC-address. So you could try two things:
a. Reboot your computer where the LMS is installed while
keeping the raspberry only on wifi.
b. Try to use give your piCorePlayer a random MAC-address on
the "squeezelite settings page" and then on the "main page" restart
squeezelite.
