Just out of interest, is SoA using a realtime version of the kernel, or the stock one? And are there any other performance tweaks included? I just tried an Arch image in place of my aging Debian RT one on my Armv5 hardware and was experiencing some occasional pops before I gave up and reverted for the time being.
I could try the entire SoA build and see how that works out, but since these boxes run Squeezelite and nothing else, a bare-bones install ought to be sufficient for me.
