Hi, I am running the latest Picoreplayer 19i and have been trying to get bit perfect audio out of my Emotiva XMC-1 which has a 192k/24b capable DAC.
Unfortunately, the XMC-1 has a Cmedia USB chip which I have come to understand is troublesome for Linux. I have scanned the internet looking for solutions. In short I can play music at up to 192k but only in 16 bit mode: tc@piCorePlayer:~$ cat /proc/asound/card1/pcm0p/sub0/hw_params access: MMAP_INTERLEAVED format: S16_LE subformat: STD channels: 2 rate: 192000 (192000/1) period_size: 960 buffer_size: 3840 using -o plughw:CARD=XMC1,DEV=0 -a 20:4:16:1 Using any variation such as 24, 24_3, or 32 results in playback that is heavily distorted. Thus I am unable to play bit perfect since it would appear that everything is being downconverted to 16 bit audio? Oddly my XMC-1 info screen always says all files I am playing are 24 bits even though my Picoreplayer clearly says it is 16 bits. I guess that is a bug in the XMC-1? At this point I believe I am at an impasse unless someone knows something I haven't come across by searching the Internet? BTW, some of the Shiit Audio devices also use the Cmedia USB interface as well if that is of help. I would be really grateful if someone has an answer for this issue? Thanks so much. -CB ------------------------------------------------------------------------ ctbarker32's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=2816 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=97046 _______________________________________________ unix mailing list [email protected] http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/unix
