I've temporarily replaced the original ralphy squeezelite (140K) binary
with a much larger (13M) version which has the latest ffmpeg 2.7.1 built
into the binary. My hope is that this version will fix issues several
forum members have been experiencing with ALAC and WMA lossless
material.
Permanently moving to the larger version would allow for the removal of
the old v2.1.7 libffmpeg.tcz and libsoxr.tcz packages from the
picoreplayer base image.
Two drawbacks are higher memory usage for users running multiple
squeezelite instances and longer download times when switching to
Ralphy's squeezelite version from the WebGUI.
As an added bonus, the larger squeezelite includes IR support, that
allows for the use of a remote and rpi infrared receiver to control the
player, without jivelite and a flirc dongle.
Code:
--------------------
-i [<filename>] Enable lirc remote control support (lirc config file
~/.lircrc used if filename not specified)
.
.
Build options: LINUX ALSA EVENTFD RESAMPLE FFMPEG VISEXPORT *IR* DSD LINKALL
--------------------
I believe JackOfAll initially implemented the IR support for squeezelite
which he and Triode later refined before including the feature in the
mainline squeezelite.
@JackOfAll, could you provide a working .lircrc file as an example and a
recommended IR receiver(s)?
Thanks,
Ralphy
