Interesting. In my setup, wifi interference usually just causes hiccups
in the music stream, rarely stopping the music altogether. So you might
be on the right track regarding WPA/WPA2. I have had the same wireless
router for a long time so my experience may differ from normal.
If you are comfortable with Linux this will show the connections to your
LMS.

The wifi AP listing is just sorted by quality, so in theory the best one
should be at the top. My neighbour's wifi strength is often greater than
mine. It doesn't reflect which one piCorePlayer is using. You can even
get that AP listing without a network connection. This command will give
you all the AP information.
