If you edit /mnt/mmcblk0p1/config.txt and remove audio=on - then the
analog soundcard is removed and only the IQaudIO card will be present.

That sounds like a good idea, probably you should be discussing this
with Gordon. Unfortunately, I'm not able to commit to this development.
