You need to read http://tinycorelinux.net/concepts.html

piCore home directory, /home/tc, is backed up using "sudo filetool.sh
-b". On piCorePlayer this is done whenever you click on one of the
[Save] buttons. There is also a [Backup] button on the main page (in
Advanced mode).

Anything on /mnt/mmcblk0p1 or /mnt/mmcblk0p2 is persistent. Steen and I
use winSCP to sync from the Raspberry Pi to our PCs (and git) so work is
not lost.
