Sorry for quoting this old posting. 
The alsa converter (type plug, rate 44100) is working with *only*
default settings. 
If you try to convert audio files from e.g. 48kHz to 44.1kHz with
rate_converter settings, it wont work.
These modules has been removed from piCore since v5.x. Strange.
I didnt find any description for the reason, neither a move this libs to
an another extension.
These libs were included in the alsa-plugins, can be found 'here'
(http://distro.ibiblio.org/tinycorelinux/5.x/armv6/tcz/).
