The microUSB cable used to deliver power is quite important. I solved my power issues with one of 'these cables' (http://www.amazon.co.uk/aLLreLi-2-0M-Micro-Cable-Heavy/dp/B014UP9ICQ). I'm powering a Pi2 with IQaudioDAC+ and 7" screen with one of those cables from a 3 x USB power supply from Ikea rated for 2.4A for a single output.
