my money is on the dac (maybe) In the output dropdown on picoreplayer can you try another selection (front:Card=DEV or whatever the front speaker setting is). also leave the other setting at default, just 80:4. I use a Squeezebox touch, via usb into a NorthStar Essencio and sometimes get the white noise problem, I just pull the plug on the touch and it clears up, sometimes I clear it by selecting another radio stream to listen too.
